Northdale Public School
2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we are focusing on helping students understand various identities and develop age-appropriate social problem-solving skills.
We are doing this because all students deserve to feel safe and accepted at school, and we believe that all members of our school community should be treated with kindness and respect.
Key Actions or Strategies
- Provide instruction in specific social skills, including sharing, taking turns, listening, following directions, respecting boundaries, and resolving conflicts.
- Empower students to respond to harmful words and actions, by using the “Stop It, Name It, Explain It, Ask for Change” approach.
- Use restorative practices to repair relationships when harm has been done.
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your child to share the safety tip of the day.
- Encourage your child to practice and share the social skills strategies they have learned while interacting with other children outside of school (e.g., playing with siblings or friends at home, during after school activities).
- Ask your child about how they demonstrated kindness and respect during the day.
